Talanoa: Nourishing the Future of Oceania

Rooted in Pacific traditions, Talanoa is a form of open, respectful dialogue where people share stories, knowledge and experiences to build collective understanding and solutions. This conference embraces that spirit, creating a collaborative space where scientific evidence, community knowledge and cultural perspectives come together.

Countries across Oceania face complex and interconnected nutrition challenges, including the growing burden of non-communicable diseases, climate-related threats to food systems, and persistent inequities in health outcomes. At the same time, the region is rich in cultural knowledge, community leadership and innovation. Through dialogue and partnership, this conference aims to strengthen regional collaboration and highlight innovative approaches to improving nutrition, health and wellbeing across Oceania.
